The Hesperia Unified Regional Occupational Program saw three students win first place in the San Bernardino County Distinguished Student Competition for 2012.
Amy Masciola in Registered Dental Assisting, Allison Bradbury in Cosmetology and Kendra Thomas-Fowler in Office Operations and Technology–Phase 2 each won top honors at the competition.
The Distinguished Student Awards recognize students who have displayed a positive attitude, demonstrated outstanding competency, possess realistic career goals and whose future has been significantly impacted by ROP. Students create a three- to five-minute DVD demonstrating the skills that they have learned in their ROP training and in their industry sector. The DVD presentation is reviewed and scored by business and industry members.
One student from each industry sector is selected to represent the San Bernardino County ROP and is invited to an award ceremony scheduled for May 7.
