HESPERIA • Homicide detectives are trying to determine if any suspicious circumstances surrounded the shooting death of a man in his Hesperia home Friday afternoon, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Hesperia station officials said.
"At this point we really don't know what happened and have alerted homicide in order to assist with this death investigation," said Sgt. Derek Pacifico.
Officials received a 911 call at about 3 p.m. reporting a man had been shot at a home in the 17000 block of Pine Street in Hesperia.
The man was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A portion of Pine Street near Cajon Road was shut down for a few hours for the investigation.
Family members gathered around the home as Hesperia investigators looked over the scene and gathered information.
Several neighbors and people at the scene were questioned about the incident.
