The Hesperia Branch Library's Summer Reading programs begin June 12 with programs for readers of all ages.

Children (preschool through sixth grade) can earn rewards by reading library books in the Dream Big: Read! program running from June 12 through July 3.

Parents who read library books to young children (newborn through 36 months) in the early literacy Dream Big program can earn rewards for them as well.

Teens can Own the Night! by reading for rewards through August 11, and adults can read library books Between the Covers to earn rewards through August 4. Each book read in the teen or adult program will earn one chance to win a Kindle Fire.

The Summer Reading program also includes special activities and performances throughout the summer:

June 6 Adults are invited to become "Hooked on Crocheting" at 3:30 p.m.

June 12 John Abrams will present "Blast Off! Animal Magic" for children and teens at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Reading for rewards guidelines and schedules for additional Summer Reading activities and performances are available at the library.
