HESPERIA A woman under the influence drove her vehicle into a power pole's guide wire Sunday morning, disrupting electrical service to more than 1,600 customers for much of the day, officials said.

The collision damaged the cross arms of a pole on Choiceana Avenue near Vine Street in Hesperia and brought down power lines between buildings, San Bernardino County Sheriff's and Southern California Edison officials said.

The driver was not injured and was cited and released, sheriff's Hesperia Station spokeswoman Susan Rose said.

Electrical service went out at 8:58 a.m. but was restored to all affected customers by 6:37 p.m., SCE spokesman Darryl Ryan said.
