PLAYING FOR THE ROSES: Oak Hills High School senior Tristin Evans, left, and junior Brian Jensen, pose in Pasadena on New Year's Day the same day they played their saxophone and tuba, respectively, as members of Pasadena City College's Tournament of Roses Honor Band. Along with Serrano High School senior Nizhoni Pigott, the young musicians beat out more than 600 high school students who audition each year in October for roughly 225 spots in the band.
