Local children can learn how to fish at Hesperia Lake at a seasonal clinic next week.

Hesperia Recreation and Park District will host its seasonal Kid's Fishing Clinic from 9 a.m. to noon April 12. The event is designed for children ages 3 to 10. The cost is $5 per child and allows the child to catch two fish.

Families aren't required to bring equipment as the district will provide poles and bait. Volunteers will be on hand to assist the children with fishing and cleaning catches.

With each ticket, the children will be able to pick a mystery fish and claim a door prize.

Hesperia Elks Lodge, We Really Care, Bait Lady, Hesperia Kiwanis, Berkley, and the LA Rod and Reel Club are all cosponsors of this upcoming clinic.

Presale tickets are available for purchase at the Lime Street Community Center, 16292 Lime St.; the Rick Novack Community Center, 13558 Palm St.; the store at Hesperia Lake, 7500 Arrowhead Lake Road; and online at HesperiaParks.com.
