First District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt's Hesperia office was burglarized Sunday night.

The office, on the 9300 block of Mariposa Road, was one of four burglarized late Sunday.

Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department responded to an alarm at 3:33 a.m., according to sheriff's department spokeswoman Roxanne Walker.

"There were several [businesses robbed]," she said Monday. "KB Homes was one."

The thieves broke in through the KB Homes office initially, said Mitzelfelt's spokesman, David Zook.

"It's not too bad, actually. There's a little bit of damage in a couple of spots," Zook said. "They broke a window in the downstairs back of the building. KB Homes has offices on the other side of the building. They broke a window there. ... Once they broke into that office, they had access to the central hallway."

The thieves stole electronics from the offices in Mitzelfelt's building, according to Zook.

"Just hearing from other offices, they took things like digital TVs, monitors."

In Mitzelfelt's office, the theft appears to be restricted to a single computer.

"We're back up and running fine," Zook said. "I think they may have taken one laptop, but our main computers that we do our work on are fine.

"It was actually an old laptop that we were getting ready to send to surplus. It was actually replaced last week."

At least five business in the building were robbed, according to Zook, and the thieves apparently broke into two adjacent buildings as well.
