Heavy winds are ushering in a series of cold fronts that are expected to bring rain to Hesperia and snow in the mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain, which began this afternoon, is expected to continue through Friday.

Snow will begin at about 10,000 feet but drop to the 6,000- or 7,000-foot level.

A second cold front is expected hit the region late Friday. Besides rain in the Hesperia area, snow may fall as low as 4,500 feet, a National Weather Service bulletin stated Thursday afternoon.
