The Hesperia sheriff's station will be conducting a DUI and driver's license checkpoint on Friday, June 25, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the city of Hesperia. All vehicles may be stopped and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be arrested. The public is encouraged to call 911 if they suspect an impaired driver.

The checkpoint is intended to reduce DUI-related accidents and to insure that drivers have a valid license, as well as to educate drivers about the perils of driving while under the influence.

This operation is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
