OAK HILLS • Police are searching for an Oak Hills man who allegedly stabbed a teen to death and seriously injured two more people before fleeing from a home in Murrieta.
William Gary Simpson Jr., 19, is wanted for the crime, according to officials with the Murrieta Police Department.
Officers were called to a Murrieta home at 3:55 a.m. Tuesday. They found an 18-year-old girl, her 48-year-old father and a 17-year-old friend all with serious stab wounds.
The teen girl died as a result of her wounds. She was identified as Saskia Burke by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner and was reportedly a senior at Murrieta Valley High School.
The father and teen boy were transported to local hospitals. They were last listed in critical but stable condition, according to a release from police.
Simpson reportedly knew the victims, police said, and had lived at the address where the murder took place as recently as 2010. However, police said his last known address is 9920 Sage St. in Oak Hills.
After treating the victims, Murrieta officers set up a perimeter and used a helicopter to search for Simpson. He was last seen fleeing on foot in the neighborhood.
Simpson is described as a black male, standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 120 pounds.
