  • BLM schedules public meeting on renewables

  • MORENO VALLEY — A public meeting of a government subcommittee is scheduled to discuss renewable energy developments in the desert areas of Southern California.
    The Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan subcommittee to the Desert Advisory Council is scheduled to meet from 4 to 6 p.m. July 1 at the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management California Desert District Office at 22835 Calle San Juan de Los Lagos in Moreno Valley.
    The DRECP is a major component of California’s renewable energy-planning efforts and intended to help provide effective protection and conservation of desert ecosystems while allowing for the appropriate development of renewable energy projects, the BLM said in a news release.
    The subcommittee may hear public comments.
