  • Construction crews have been busy along Main Street as they continue to build the new home of O’Reilly Auto Parts.
Located on 2.3 acres on the northwest corner of Main Street and F Avenue, the new 8,738 square-foot auto parts store will replace the current store on the corner of C Avenue and Main Street.
“The building of the O’Reilly’s Auto Parts store is another sign that Hesperia is moving in the right direction economically,” Mayor Thurston “Smitty” Smith said. “It’s a store that provides products that almost everyone needs.”
Smith said the location of the store also sends a strong signal to developers and the community that the east side of Hesperia has not been forgotten.
“There is a lot of activity going on east of the tracks,” Smith said. “There’s also a lot of interest on property down I Avenue, near Olive Street.”
Over the last two years, the east side has been occupied by a new 99 Cents Only store, Vallarta Supermarket, Dollar General and a larger Stater Bros. grocery store.
“I saw this big, brick building going up and I wondered what was going up,” said Earl McNamara, 62, who lives in Hesperia. “The bigger the store, the bigger the selection.”
Founded in 1957 and based in Springfield, Missouri, O’Reilly Auto Part has grown to include more than 4,100 stores in 42 U.S. states
