  • A local branch of a national frozen yogurt chain is aiming to raise money to help make a difference in the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Through Aug. 31, Menchie’s in Hesperia will be raising money to help Make-A-Wish grant life-changing wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions, with a guaranteed minimum contribution of $115,000.
With donations of $1 or more, guests will receive a coupon sheet worth $8 as a thank you for their donation. All funds raised at Menchie’s Hesperia will be donated to the local Make-A-Wish chapter in High Desert.
According to store staff, this fundraiser is giving both Menchie’s and guests the opportunity to truly make a difference in a child’s life.
“We are proud to support Make-A-Wish and help bring hope and strength to wish kids with as little as $1,” said Josh Grewal, owner of the Menchie’s shop located at 12719 Main St. at Hesperia Super Target Center on Main Street, just west of Interstate 15. “We look forward to making a difference together with our guests and making even more children smile.”
Make-A-Wish America President and CEO David Williams says the organization is grateful as Menchie’s has done a wonderful job teaming up with organizations in the past to help others.
“Menchie’s vision is to encourage happiness and smiles,” Williams said, “and we know the wish experience delivers abundant amounts of both to wish kids facing some incredible challenges.”
Menchie’s is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Visit www.menchies.com for more information, or follow Menchie’s on Facebook at www.facebook.com/mymenchies or Twitter at @MyMenchies to track the progress of the campaign.
