    Adelanto Health Center to celebrate grand opening

  • ADELANTO — The San Bernardino County Department of Public Health plans to host a grand opening on Thursday for the relocation of the Adelanto Health Center.
    First District Supervisor Robert Lovingood is among those scheduled to attend the event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the center’s new facility on 11336 Bartlett Avenue, Suite 11 in  Adelanto.
    The Adelanto Health Center provides a variety of mental health, primary care and dental services. Every Woman Counts and Reproductive Health services are also available at the health center.
    According to a county news release, the Adelanto Health Center originated at Westside Park Elementart School as a school-based clinic. The center is identified as a Federally Qualified Health Center by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
    Dr. Meaghan Ellis, Chief of Community Health Services/Health Center Director, noted in the release that the roomier new site will help expand access to primary care services for uninsured and under-insured citizens.
    Residents are encouraged to attend the new facility opening to learn more about the health center and its services.
