  • Deputies cite, arrest 20 at checkpoint

  • HESPERIA — Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department made contact with more than 400 vehicles while citing or arresting 20 people for driving under the influence, drug possession, warrants and other offenses during a DUI checkpoint over the weekend, sheriff’s officials said.
    Two people were arrested on suspicion of DUI, one was arrested on suspicion of transportation of a controlled substance and four were arrested for outstanding warrants, authorities said.
    Sheriff’s officials also reported 13 subjects were arrested or cited for driver’s license infractions at the checkpoint Saturday night in the area of Main Street and E Avenue. Thirteen vehicles were towed.
