ADELANTO — Authorities were summoned to Heritage Field on Sunday afternoon following a report that a shot had been fired during a brawl involving “multiple subjects,” a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s spokeswoman said.
A call came in at 3:28 p.m. that people were fighting by Bravo Burgers near the Maverick’s stadium, which was hosting a first-annual car show, and witnesses reported a shot had been fired, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Oliva Bozek.
Deputies and a sheriff’s helicopter responded to the scene and authorities began searching for a possible suspect vehicle believed to be a maroon SUV traveling southbound on Highway 395, according to scanner traffic.
While on scene, some witnesses told deputies that the scuffle originated at Bravo Burgers while others said it started at the Valero gas station adjacent to the stadium, Bozek said.
According to Bozek, no suspects were located and no injuries had been reported. Deputies with both the Victorville and Victor Valley sheriff’s stations provided crowd control inside the stadium. Most of the crowd there had dispersed by 4:21 p.m. and the stadium was entirely clear as 4:45 p.m., she said.
The car show, dubbed “High Desert Super Show,” featured a display of custom trucks, cars, lowriders, hot rods, muscle cars and bikes, according to an event flyer. It was scheduled to run between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
