Looking for good deals on used tack and equipment? Come to the Hesperia Equine On Patrol yard sale at 17694 Fresno St. in Hesperia, starting at 8 a.m. They are raising funds to purchase a cargo holder to store their HARMS training equipment.
The Patrol works out of the Sheriff’s substation in Hesperia. All volunteers and their horses undergo HARMS training before becoming members of the Patrol. Some of the duties of the Patrol include working events sanctioned by the county, such as the annual sheriff’s rodeo.
Sheriff’s buckles will also be available for purchase at this event. Anyone interested in learning more about becoming a member of the patrol can pick up an application, too.

Aug. 29 through Sept. 1
The Equestrian Trails Inc., Corral 103 Labor Day weekend ride at Big Pine Flats is $50 per family unit per weekend, with a $30 deposit to hold a spot.
The number of rigs is limited and some corrals are available. Corral 103 members get first choice. Campers must have proper rope and tree saver to high-line stock.
The camp is located west of Fawnskin on 3N14, a dirt road that’s a bit rough in spots. Reservations have closed, but for more information, call Phil and Pam Hill at 760-948-1780.

Glen Avon Comancheros District 15’s first show of the new season is a quad show at Horsemen’s Center, 24320 Highway 18 in Apple Valley. Sign up from 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and ride at 9 a.m.
Events are poles II, figure 8 stake, single stake, birangle, keyhole and quadrangle.

The annual Hesperia Wranglers Championship Gymkhana, part of Hesperia Days, has some special perks for competitors.
Pre-enter by Sept. 15 and receive a $5 discount on your entry fee. Visit the club’s Facebook page for information.
Champions will receive Silverado champion buckles; reserves will take home bronc halters. Third place overall winners will get trophies, and ribbons will be awarded to fourth and fifth.
The rodeo takes place at Val Shearer Arena, Hesperia Lake Park, 7500 Arrowhead Lake Road. Sign-ups start at 8 a.m., ride at 9 a.m. Age groups are 10 and under, 11 to 13, 14 to 17, 18 to 39, and 40 and better.

Mojave Trail Days are Oct. 4 and 5 at the Helendale Community Park, 15425 Wild Road, Helendale.
Mojave Trail Days is a fun-filled western event for the whole family. There will be live music, wild west re-enactments, blacksmith demonstrations, cowboy mounted shooting demonstrations, a kids area, vendors, food and more.
Equestrian activities include an extreme cowboy competition at 10 a.m. Saturday. Entry fee is $20. The winning rider will win a buckle. There will be two divisions, beginner and advanced.
Ranch sorting starts at 10 a.m. Sunday. Entry fee is $20 per rider. The winning team will receive a buckle.
