While time is running out on catfish season at Hesperia Lake, a few local fishermen were able to reel in a some big catches recently.

Two 10-pound catfish were caught throughout the first week of November, one from an Apple Valley resident and the other from a 13-year-old boy. Both fish were caught using shrimp as bait.

A Rialto resident nabbed the third largest fish of the week, a 9-pound catfish caught on Sandy Point.

Jimmy Franklin, Apple Valley, and Jeremy Martinez, Victorville, also ended the season on a high note by each hauling in 7-pound catfish.

Trout delivery is scheduled to start Thursday pending water temperature.
