Helping seniors take steps toward maintaining optimal health and well-being has been the chief aim of the CareMore Health Plan since 1993. Its mission is threefold — to lead and excel in health outcomes while reducing total cost through aggressive prevention; care for the dignity and health of the whole person; and thoughtfully challenge the status quo.

Older adults in Hesperia who have utilized CareMore’s services know firsthand how beneficial they are. In fact, the company has become so popular, it had to move to a larger space.

Earlier this month, CareMore’s facility relocated from 17085 Main St. to 14466 Main St., Suite 102. It hosted a grand opening celebration on Thursday, which was attended by Hesperia Chamber of Commerce members, as well as CareMore staff members, who offered tours of the new building.

“We’re really excited about this expansion for a number of reasons,” said Heather Baker, community relations representative for CareMore in the High Desert. “First, we will now have more exam rooms, which we really needed. And we’re also more centrally located, so our patients from surrounding cities won’t have as far to drive.”

CareMore was founded by a group of physicians who sought to harness the power of teamwork in order to treat mind, body and spirit. Baker said this thoughtful and unique approach has helped the company thrive throughout the years.

“With a focus on prevention and highly coordinated care, CareMore’s clinical model was designed proactively to address the medical, social and personal health needs of its patients,” said Baker. “This resulted in clinical outcomes above the national average and ultimately, healthier people and communities.”

Over the past seven years, the CareMore Care Centers have expanded from one state to eight, according to Baker. It currently provides medical services for enrollees in Medicare Advantage and Medicaid health plans in California, Nevada, Arizona, Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio, Iowa and Georgia.

The organization also is participating in a dual demonstration project in parts of Los Angeles County in conjunction with state and federal regulators to coordinate care for people eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid.

In addition, CareMore operates a medical group, which offers its proven clinical and health technology models to third parties through various subsidiaries.
