An article in the July 6 edition of the Hesperia Star, entitled "It pays to be an elected official," incorrectly stated that Hesperia Unified School District school board members receive approximately $20,000 in health benefits. The actual value is between $12,324 and $16,689, depending on the plan. The article also incorrectly stated that board members previously could receive lifetime health benefits from the district: Board members who have served 12 years or more, the HUSD pays their health benefits through age 65.
The Hesperia Star regrets the error.
