Six children removed from unheated home
Two women charged with cruelty to a child over conditions at Pine Street residence
Six children were removed from a Pine Street residence that authorities said were "unsanitary and uninhabitable conditions."
Representatives of the San Bernardino County Department of Children's Services took the children, ranging in age from 2 months to 7 years old, into protective custody.
San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies, who had come to the house the 16500 block of Pine Street on a civil matter, had allegedly discovered the children in unheated house with no heat, gas or hot water and with exposed electrical wires in the children's room. Drug paraphernalia, including glass pipes, was allegedly accessible to the children as well.
The children's mothers, sisters Alvarado, 31, and Brisali Tizcareno, 24, were arrested on a charge of Cruelty to a Child and booked at West Valley Detention Center. Both were under the influence at the time of the arrest.
