Libraries hosting Black History Month festivities
Hesperia branch event coming Feb. 20
February is Black History Month and to celebrate the Newton T. Bass Apple Valley Branch Library and Hesperia Branch Library are planning to host special events.
The events will include guest speakers, live music and free crafts. Rev. Dennis Brown will speak and share facts from throughout African American history including recording artists, athletes, politicians, military and more.
Attendees are encouraged to stay for other fun activities such as crafts stations throughout the library.
The Apple Valley Library will host its event from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, while the Hesperia Branch Library’s event goes from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 20.
