Sheriff's Log - March 11, 2008

March 3, 2008
* A man was arrested near the intersection of I Avenue and Preston Street for possession of marijuana.
* Seventy-five 100-foot rolls of roofing material, worth approximately $3,000, were stolen from a site on the 17200 block of Eucalyptus Street. The thieves cut a chain link fence to gain admittance.
* A residence on the 6900 block of Via Marbella Street was burglarized, and a computer, photocopier and plumbing materials were stolen.
* A 17-year-old boy received stitches after his adult neighbor reportedly punched him in the face a dozen times. The boy had ridden his bike across the neighbor's lawn, on the 18600 block of Live Oak Street. The neighbor was arrested on a charge of assault with serious injuries.
* A traffic collision at the intersection of Main Street and Choiceana Street between a motorcycle and a truck left the motorcyclist with a possibly severed leg.

March 4, 2008
* Two men were arrested on the 15100 block of Bear Valley Road after they attempted to steal $1,000 in merchandise from a store they both worked at. Coworkers stopped the pair and kept them handcuffed until deputies arrived.
* A residence was burglarized overnight on the 12000 block of Oakwood Avenue. The burglar entered through a broken window and stole a wallet.
* Two sliding chain link fence gates, each 20' by 6', were stolen from a site on the 11800 block of Avenal Street.
* A couple was arrested for cruelty to children on the 16200 block of Pine Street. The pair allegedly had allowed three men renting rooms from them to repeatedly molest children ages 10, 8 and 6.
* Three people were arrested near the intersection of Main Street and G Avenue for being drunk in public.
* A person was arrested on the 13400 block of Pleasant View Street for possession of dangerous drugs.
* Two Bassett Hounds were stolen overnight from the yard of a residence on the 16900 block of Sherborn Avenue.
* Two teenage males were arrested for shoplifting on the 15500 block of Main Street.
