Teen allegedly fakes threatening calls, assault, arson

Staff Writer

In Aesop's fable, the boy who cried "wolf" one too many times ended up eaten by the wolf. For a Hesperia teen, the story ended in arrest.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, deputies and San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel responded to a vehicle fire on the 7700 block of Victor Street at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 17. Investigators concluded the 17 year old who had made the call had started the fire himself.

A week and a half later, on June 28, deputies responded to the same location, to take a report of assault with a deadly weapon. The investigators concluded the boy had inflicted the head injuries on himself.

Investigators also determined that a number of 911 calls threatening the life of the teen were also made by the same boy.

On July 18, the teen was arrested. He was booked at Apple Valley Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of arson.
