In one way or another, Hesperia resident Jo Anne Goodsell has been helping people heal for most of her life. In the 1970s, Goodsell worked as a medic in the Air Force while stationed at the former George Air Force Base in Victorville.

After leaving the service, the San Diego native went on to build a successful career as a neonatal nurse.

These days, Goodsell, an R.N., is enjoying retired life with her husband Roger but continues to be on a mission to assist others with their health and wellness goals. She recently began offering services in a healing modality called Access Bars.

The technique was developed by natural health facilitator Gary Douglas. According to Goodsell, it allows a person’s body to process and receive the changes they would like to see in their life.

Between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on April 22, she will be offering 20-minute Access Bars sessions at the Hi-Desert Center for Spiritual Living’s (HDCSL) Healthy Spirit Festival, located at 18575 Corwin Road in Apple Valley.

“I have always been interested in learning about healing and self-development, so when I found out about Access Bars, it really spoke to me,” said Goodsell, who was in the first graduating class of Victor Valley College’s nursing program. “I took a class in 2012 but didn’t start to formally practice it until last fall.

“So far, I’m loving it and have already seen it work its magic in people’s lives.”

Access Bars are 32 points on the head which, when gently touched, easily release any thoughts, beliefs and emotions that may be standing in the way of achieving one’s desires or their ability to heal.

Goodsell said that during a session, most people feel a complete sense of relaxation. Others experience a warm and peaceful sensation, as well as a deep feeling of joy.

The modality can enhance one’s ability to let go of fear and worry, bring greater clarity to make important decisions and speed up recovery time from an injury or health issue. In addition, Goodsell said people who have undergone the process report feeling much happier with their lives in general.

“An Access Bars session is like a defragging of your computer,” said Goodsell. “It clears out all the junk in your mind that stands in the way of you being able to become who you really are. The awareness and clarity it brings is quite amazing.

“Sometimes the changes are very subtle and sometimes they are dramatic but both the receiver and the recipient of Access Bars will feel positive and lasting effects. For me, one of the biggest things that has changed is that I am a lot more confident in myself.”

Along with her mini-sessions at HDCSL’s Healthy Spirit Festival, Goodsell also offers full-length, private sessions. For more information, call 714-331-4765.
