Suspected drug dealer sought in truck-dragging incident

Authorities believe Pedro Gaspar Tellado Oviedo may be headed to Miami

Staff Writer

Authorities have identified a 32-year-old man as the motorist suspected of dragging a 17-year-old Hesperia High School boy behind his truck for 200 yards after a collision.

On October 10, Pedro Gaspar Tellado Oviedo, 32, was involved in a traffic collision with Aaron Horsley near the intersection of Redwood Avenue and Kimball Street. According to witnesses, Oviedo hit Horsley, drove over him in his white Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck, and dragged the boy 200 yards, swerving back and forth in an apparent attempt to dislodge Horsley from the vehicle. After Horsely came free, Oviedo then reportedly fled the scene at a high rate of speed.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies located Oviedo's vehicle and discovered DNA evidence during a search that linked it to the collision. A search warrant was served on his residence and evidence of drug sales was found. Oviedo was contacted and interviewed, but while deputies were conducting further investigations to link him to the incident, he may have fled the area, possibly heading to Miami.

Oviedo faces charges of Hit and Run Causing Injury, Possession of Marijuana for Sales and Forgery. A $750,000 felony extradition warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Oviedo is a 5'7", 160 lb. Cuban-American of African descent with tattoos on his chest and arms.

Anyone with information regarding this case or Oviedo's location is asked to call Deputy John Ades at 403-7277, Sheriff's Dispatch at 245-4211, the Hesperia sheriff's station at 947-1500 or the anonymous WE-TIP line at (800) 782-7463.

What a winner. Thank you el jefe' bOoSh for allowing these peaceful, hard-working agrarians to come here looking for a better life for their families and to do the jobs Americans won't do.
