Sons allegedly beat elderly mother into unconsciousness
William and Alan Hussey arrested for attempted murder, elder abuse
Two brothers have been arrested for allegedly beating their elderly mother into unconsciousness and stealing her credit cards.
On Sunday, October 18, at approximately 7:30 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Deputy Jason Schroeder made a welfare check on an elderly resident living on the 16300 block of Cashew Street who had not been answering her phone.
There, he found the 74-year-old woman on the floor of her bedroom, unconscious, with major trauma to her head, neck and shoulders.
According to the department, further investigation revealed her two adult sons were responsible for her care, and that the pair had left the residence after the assault on Friday.
Brothers William, 51, and Alan, 50, Hussey were arrested at a Baker AM/PM when a deputy there heard the pair's descriptions broadcast. The Hussey brothers were allegedly on their way to a relative's house in Pahrump, Nevada, at the time of the arrest and allegedly had their mother's stolen credit cards with them at the time.
The Hussey brothers were booked at Barstow Jail for attempted murder and elder abuse. The victim is in critical condition at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, but is expected to recover from her injuries.

| My 15 year old daughter and I heard this story on the radio yesterday and she felt like throwing up too. This is so sad. I hope this woman has some other family that will step up and take care of her. And I hope that when people in jail find out what these morons did to their mom that they give them a taste of their own medicine! I think an eye for an eye would be ideal in this case |

| This kind of behavior is sickening. This is your Mom, I bet you broke her heart. For someone to raise you and you treat them like this, she deserves better son's than you. |
