Neighbor foils burglary in progress

An attentive neighbor stopped a foiled an apparent burglary in progress.

A resident on the 17800 block of Seaforth Street called San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies to report a burglary in progress. According to the witness, a red pickup truck had backed into the yard of a neighboring vacant house.

Deputies arrived and found three men at the location. The men told the deputies they had purchased a portable spa and patio furniture from the owner. The owner was contacted and she told deputies she had not sold her property, nor had she given the suspects permission to be on her property.

Kyle Bekke, 21, Leonard Thompson, 56, and Lance Oldfield, 20, were arrested on a charge of residential burglary and booked at Victor Valley Jail.
