Arrest made in Check Into Cash robbery investigation

Taiwan Deshawn Jefferson, 31, arrested after suspect vehicle spotted

STAFF WRITER

A distinctive car led to the arrest of a Hesperia man Thursday, and an accusation that he robbed a check-cashing store the day before.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Linzy Savage and Detective Brandon Rio spotted a vehicle witnesses reported the suspect using at the robbery of the Check Into Cash check cashing robbery near the intersection of Main Street and 11th Avenue on Wednesday. Witnesses told deputies on Wednesday that a man in his 30s robbed the store and got into a red or maroon older model four-door vehicle with a faded red bumper, and gave authorities a partial license plate number.

Savage and Rio followed the vehicle to an apartment complex near the intersection of Maple Avenue and Topaz Street. The female driver got out, went into an apartment, and returned with a male adult and several children, all of whom got into the car and drove away.

Detective Glenn Mellor pulled the vehicle over near the intersection of Live Oak Street and Maple Avenue. During a subsequent search of the vehicle and the apartment, the sheriff's department says, evidence was found that linked the man in the car to the Check Into Cash robbery.

Taiwan Deshawn Jefferson, 31, was arrested on a charge of armed robbery and booked into Victor Valley Jail.

Atta Boy city politicos. Guess how different this person and family is from many who will inhabit your low income B S apartments? Just like Adelanto and Victorville, politicos selling out the residents for a few developments dollars. Shame on all of you.
