Billy Ray Cyrus plays free concert tonight

Country star will play songs from new album in fund-raiser for Forever Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary

STAFF WRITER

Country musician Billy Ray Cyrus will play songs off his new album at a free concert Friday night at Boulder Creek Ranch in Hesperia.

Cyrus' concert, along with an auction of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition memorabilia are part of a fund-raiser for the Forever Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary in Phelan. The Almquist family, who run Forever Wild, are the recipients of a home makeover by the show for an episode that is expected to be aired in April.

Cyrus, who is best known among adults for his 1992 number one single, "Achy Breaky Heart," will be singing songs from his new album, Back to Tennessee, which will be released in April. He's probably best-known to younger audiences as the father of Miley Cyrus, with whom he co-stars on "Hannah Montana."

The concert begins at 4:45 and is free to the public.

Boulder Creek Ranch is located at 10209 Choiceana Avenue, Hesperia. For more information, call 244-0096.

Beau Yarbrough can be reached at 956-7108 or at beau@hesperiastar.com.
