City creates graffiti hotline

Staff Writer

Hesperia residents now have a direct number to call for graffiti clean-up: 947-1600.

The city of Hesperia currently has two full-time graffiti clean-up crews, with a goal of removing all graffiti within 24 hours of it being reported. Clean-up crews also work with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Hesperia Unified School District police department and Hesperia Recreation and Park District to catalog graffiti tags and identify those responsible.

Residents can leave a message at the new phone number, or if they witness someone creating graffiti, they can call the Hesperia sheriff's station at 947-1528, or the anonymous WE-TIP line at (800) 78-CRIME.

Beau Yarbrough can be reached at 956-7108 or at beau@hesperiastar.com.

Dear waste of money, Your council is just a phone call away, and we always have time to meet with residents. Come forward and let us adress your concerns. Council Member Rita Voger

Yeah, we wouldn't want the city to APPEAR bad. Will they do anything about the drug house down the street from my home? Nope. Do they do anything about my window being busted out? Nope. What a joke, how about we do something to prevent crime instead of just trying to cover it up AFTER it has happened within 24 hours.
