Hesperia couple linked to string of vehicle burglaries, other crimes

HESPERIA • A Hesperia couple is behind bars after they were found with stolen property linked to at least four separate crimes throughout the Victor Valley, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Hesperia station officials said Friday.

Thursday morning, Hesperia Deputy Joseph Garay was alerted to a possible stolen van in the area of I Avenue and Main Street, according to a release.

Garay was able to confirm the van had been stolen out of Victorville earlier that week and he and other deputies conducted a felony traffic stop, officials said.

The driver was identified as Joseph Mooyman and the passenger as Megan White, both of Hesperia. Authorities found stolen property — including stolen checks — inside the vehicle linked to vehicle burglaries out of Apple Valley and Victorville.

Mooyman and White were arrested and booked at Victor Valley Jail on four counts of possession of stolen property each. They are each being held on $25,000 bail.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Hesperia station at (760) 947-1500 or call WeTip at (800) 78-CRIME.
