Chris Boggs of the new iSold It store in Hesperia discusses the process of selling items through his store.

iSold It store does the legwork for eBay sellers

For those who don’t have much extra time but have the goods -- perhaps a musical instrument collecting dust in the garage or an antique vase stuffed into a cupboard -- the iSold It store in Hesperia could help them sell their items on eBay without barely lifting a finger.

In fact, says franchisee Chris Boggs, who runs the new store in the new Plaza on Main shopping center near Main Street and 11th Avenue with his wife, Megan, and parents, Steve and Joy Boggs, some customers are thrilled to find many items are worth much more than expected.

For instance, one owner of an antique grandfather clock found his piece wasn’t worth a few hundred dollars. Rather, its value on eBay was several thousand dollars. After researching the value of the neck of a saxophone, the owner was shocked to discover the rare part would sell for hundreds of dollars, according to Boggs.

“Buying on eBay is easy, but selling on eBay, let alone other online marketplaces, takes effort,” says Ken Sully, CEO of iSold It. “The process can be time consuming and intimidating for people who are not familiar with the mechanics of posting items for sale online. iSold It lets everyone -- from individuals, to businesses to fund raising organizations -- sell merchandise online.”

Popular items that are sold through the service are cameras, PDAs, DVD players, cell phones, jewelry and watches, antiques and collectibles, musical instruments, automobile parts, movie and sports memorabilia and sports equipment.

The process is simple. First, a customer either bring in an item or calls for an informational meeting. Next, a trained team member collects necessary information to compile an online auction listing. Prior to posting, the item is photographed and descriptions are written.

After items are listed for bidding, the Hesperia iSold It team tracks the items, and after the item is sold, processes the payment, and packs and ships the item. Upon the completion of a successful online auction, a check is mailed to the customer.

iSold It charges a commission based on an item’s final sale price. If, however, an item doesn’t sell, the customer can pick it up or donate the item to charity.

iSold It is located at 15550 Main Street. For more information, call 948-0300.
