Paz named a Leaping Leader

Carrows manager is honored by Azusa Pacific University and KFROG 103.1

Carrows Restaurant manager Paul Paz, whose last name means "peace" in Spanish, was crowned a "Leaping Leader" during a festive ceremony last Tuesday afternoon.

The event was sponsored by Azusa Pacific University and KFROG 103.1 who co-sponsor the monthly program that honors outstanding community leaders who leap forward to make a difference in their communities. Paz was named the Leaping Leader for April.

KFROG mascot Mr. KFROG and Donald Rucker, D. Min., director of Azusa Pacific University's High Desert Regional Center, formally presented the award to Paz. Also on hand was Pastor David Penn of Hesperia Church of the Nazarene.

Cheering family, friends, employees and the friendly frog, circled around Paz, waving signs attesting to his kindness. The longtime manager of Carrows' Main Street and I Avenue location, he is known for his politeness and generosity. Besides being a popular eatery for Hesperians, the facility also hosts weekly luncheon meetings for the Hesperia Kiwanis and other service organizations.

KFROG 103.1 is the Victor Valley's popular FM country music station.

Azusa Pacific University's High Desert Regional Center offers undergraduate degree completion programs and a wide variety of master's degrees and credential programs.
