Registrar approves recall petition
Group seeking school board recall to begin collecting signatures next week
After six months of work and a false start along the way, a group seeking to recall three members of the Hesperia Unified School District school board has an officially approved petition ready for signing.
"I just picked up the approved petition," recall spokeswoman Lori Nielson said Friday morning. "It's going to print on Monday morning. And then we will be passing out the petitions."
This is actually the second attempt to get a petition to hold a recall election to remove Hardy Black, Robert Kirk and Lee Rogers from the school board. A first attempt, which began in July of this year, ended on October 22, when the group failed to turn in a revised draft of the petition back to the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters in time to meet a deadline.
Despite the setback, though, Nielson said she and her group never became disheartened.
"I think it's because the registrar of voters worked with us. We've been criticized 'you can't get a comma right,' but everything has to be right. We've just been working it and working it."
But now the next stage of the process can begin: The group has 120 days to collect approximately 6,919 signatures -- or 20 percent of the 34,596 registered voters living in the Hesperia Unified School District.
That means requiring gathering more signatures than voted for Lee Rogers, who received 5,946, and only 45 signatures fewer than were cast for Black on November 7, 2006. The signatures, if gathered, would amount to a little more than 85 percent of the votes cast for Kirk, the top vote getter, who picked up 8,057 votes.
"Everything's been approved, and that's the most important thing," Nielson said. "Now everything's going to be great. We have 120 days! We have a lot of people who are anxious and a lot of people who are excited."
The completed petitions must be turned in to the registrar of voters by April 7.

I am Chris Bentley. When I write something, I sign my name to it or, in this ethically challenged cyber ruled space, provide a specific moniker which clearly identifies me. For those seeking to antagonize me into joining this rabble rouse session, I have only posted here with a mathematically reasoned position that Beau has the target number for recall signatures wrong. I still think so. I have written nothing else, nor will I until this joyous Christmas season is over. Merry Christmas to all, and that includes all who disagree on the recall issue too.

HJHteach, I am pleased to see that our imitation teachers are more concerned about participating in a sugar coated dirty politics than actual teaching of our children. No wonder our quality of education is in jeorpardy.

Promises made, damage done. Too bad so many refuse to be angered by politicians who set out to fool us and actually accomplish their goals. Too bad we have not yet realized the damage wrought by a union takeover of our educational governing board and administration. We pay for this in high taxes and a breakdown in our school operations. We have an opportunity to correct our error by signing the recall petitions being circulated. There is a petition for each of the three board members. Lee Rogers is on the pink form, Hardy Black is on the yellow form, and Robert Kirk is on the blue form.

Bozo Watchers of the world unite! We have a Three Ring Circus of BOZOS meeting publicly, and privately, continuously in violation of the Brown Act which, by the way, is enough reason alone to remove them from office. Notice that no matter how many times the gross waste of money, by these three, has been explained, the local detractors, defenders, and deniers continue to act dumb. Does that make BOZOS look funny or what?

I'm not name calling. A bozo is a bozo, and anyone can recognize one. As for disingenuous tactics and the spewing of less than accurate information, how can you debate against that, yet continue to support the three biggest disingenuous bozos of them all? As far as outright neglect, how about spending money that is supposed to go to student learning on things like the WLC mess and someone's buddy Margaret Sepp, paying Hank Richardson hundreds of thousands of dollars to work in his garden, closing schools that the students and parents love, and generally behaving like autocratic bozos? And if that doesn't convince you of outright neglect, then how about we just call it complete disregard and indifference to parents, students, and anyone who does not agree with HTA. That my friends is a bozo, and we have three of the biggest ones making decisions that affect our kids. We got Trouble with a capital Tee and that rhymes with Bee and that stands for Bozo. Thank you. I'll sit down now.

3PO and R2, you guys are getting carried away. Spend your time on the recall. Besides I think Kirk's pate looks kind of cute. Excuse me, R2, I forgot about your monocular video scanner. Reflected and glaring lights probably give you some trouble. Maybe a rug?

3PO, costume suppliers have stuff like Kaiser helmets. Years ago there was one on Highland in San Bernardino. You would not want to pay the price for an original. Good luck.

C3PO try e-bay. I just found one, for 20 dollars. It's a knockoff, not original, but looks pretty good. I think you've got a good idea. If Kirk wants to be the Kaiser, he may as well look the part.

Hesperiavoter, please don't let facts interfere with your ignorant bliss. You probably surround yourself with most of the people the rest of us in Hesperia are tired of. Could it be you're one of them? Gee, wouldn't that be a shock? Besides, if the shoe fits, well, you know.

There is nothing wrong with a grassroots group working for political change . What I question is the way in which this grassroots group is going about it. I would argue that their using disingenous tactics. One only has to read their website to see that some of the things listed are not accurate. It is misleading In my humble socialistic bozo opinion. May I ask why some of you here resort to namecalling. Can you not have a civil debate with out insults?

Why does anyone in Northern California even care about a recall here? What they're laughing at I'm sure is that we got suckered by the teachers union into voting these bozos into office. Now the only ones who can get them out are the same ones who put them in. Us. Whoever it was that questioned a grass roots group effecting political change must be some fascist socialistic bozo supporter of the three bozos. Isn't grass roots groups creating political change what this whole country is about? Holy corn on the cob. You people are scary.

I believe that firing Mr. Richardson with absolutely no explanation, closing 6th grade schools with no explanation, approving, then disapproving WLC and Sepp with no explanation, other than to the teachers union- all these are neglectful of the students in my opinion. Have the people ever actually gotten an explanation for any of this stuff? If you don't agree, don't sign the petition.

Playdough, new analysis indicates strong probability LR is LBO. High levels of self importance and righteousness measured and arrogance off the charts. Highly probable CB and LR have very close communication connection. Obvious relationship between several posters, based on style and key words, probably implies same person or collusion.

I've been in business over 30 years in this town. The first rule of business is to respect the customer. That means, to you dimwits passing yourself off as protectors of the gate, that you don't let politics mix with business. It's bad for business. If you have a political position, state it by identifying yourself and show us how honest and proud you are about your stand. If you do that you will reduce your patronage by a considerable amount, especially in the case of the current issues with the school board. If you think that is smart, you are not a real business owner or very stupid.
