Deputy reportedly attacked by dachshunds
A San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputy who was helping serve a warrant Thursday was allegedly attacked by dogs -- but not the sort usually associated with such attacks.
On June 23, shortly afternoon, Deputy Caesar Reyes was helping Hesperia Code Enforcement and Animal Control serve a warrant on the 15700 block of Halinor Street.
Suspect Ruth Lawson, 69, initially refused to allow the officers into her house and allegedly tried to slam the front door on Reyes' hand. Once inside, Reyes was attacked by a trio of dachshunds and was bitten on his right leg.
There were reportedly 10 dogs and 9 cats in Lawson's house, all of which were taken by Animal Control officers. The three dogs that reportedly attacked Reyes were quarantined.
Lawson was arrested for resisting a peace officer and booked at Victor Valley Jail.
