HesperiaStar.com readers support school board recall in online poll
In a HesperiaStar.com poll that ran from July 24 through August 17, 71 percent of voters said they supported a recall petition aimed at removing three Hesperia Unified School District school board members from office.
With 116 visitors voting, 83 of them (or 71 percent) voted yes to the question "do you support the school board district recall petition?" Twenty-five voters (or 22 percent) voted no, 6 voters (or 5 percent) said they were not residents within the Hesperia Unified School District and 2 voters (1 percent) were undecided or had no opinion. The "undecided/no opinion" choice was added midway through the polling.
A new poll went up on August 17 and continues through the end of August, asking site visitors if "school board recall proponents [will] be able to gather the almost 7,000 signatures they need before mid-December?"

It sounds like another good item to add to the reasons for recalling Robert Kirk, Hardy Black, Lee Rogers and Jim Pace.

Is this going to be another parent survey costing our district more money? Remember Chris Bentley likes spending our kids money on more parent surveys. Save the survey money and start making the correct decisions that the good citizens of the school district elected you to do.

The schools of choice idea looks like another bad school board decision getting ready to take place by Robert Kirk, Hardy Black, and Lee Rogers.

One thing I also want to make clear, I do believe that a student should have the choice when available to go to a different school in the district, outside of the assigned area they live. To answer

I too would like to know more about choice schools before I answer a survey. There appears to be way too many questions and not many answers as to how this would work. Both my wife and I drive down the hill every day for work, like many other parents in Hesperia. If we desire our children to attend a choice school who is responsible for transporting our children? We obviously are on the road in the early morning and would not be able to provide transportation. It seems to me that the smart thing would be to have answers to all the questions prior to surveys being sent home. Sounds like the homework on this subject has not been completed.

The survey was sent out to see what type of choice schools, if any, parents would be interested in having their kids attend. It's just the first step in the process. Once the info is collected, the committee will move forward. Naturally, there are issues regarding transportation, who gets priority, etc. Be patient, the info will get out there.

To JeB, more sixth grade schools were part of the master plan set up before the three new members were elected. A little bit of info that they failed to mention. They have a habit of doing that on a regular basis. Two board members went to the HTA meeting this week and told members their reasons for voting the way they did. Again, they left out a lot of info and then proceeded to blame everything on the district office. If no one checks on their info they're disseminating, the lies continue. Read the board minutes. Find out what was saidby them. It's astounding.

Jaime, ACTIONS speak louder than words. If you would stop the name-calling yourself and focus on the real issues, maybe you could give some specific reasons why you support people who would take millions of dollars from our children by lining the pockets of their friends. "The trio rocks" doesn't cut it.

Hesperia citizen, I don't like gossiping, name calling and building animosity against other people. Read what people are doing on this blog. These are things what I tell my kids not to do now and later in their lives.

| Once again, the koolaid drinkers throw out name-calling. That's the only thing they have because there are no real answers to what's been going on. Again, please explain WLC, Margaret Sepp, firing Mr. Richardson,
buying out Samuels, etc. We are interested in how these things can be of any benefit to the children of Hesperia. |

Jaime if you see something that is not correct, point it out. These blogs are to stimulate the need to go and find out what really is happening. And I am not a Mintonite, but I do want to know what is going on, my kids are in this district too and so far the new board is not helping their education the way I wish.

What cracks me up is /whythehate/ is talking about someone else's bad info when she spreads it with a trowel. Sad thing is, she gulps Kirk's Koolaid. If you're going to be outspoken get your facts. If they didn't do anything wrong, why didn't they refute anything when they sent their recall responses? Do you really think it's a coincidence that all 3 called recallers /Extremists/? Thant should give you pause, but you'll defend them to the death. What did they do for you besides destroy a stable district? You owe them nothing.
