Do we have to remind the Hesperia city council that we OWN our property and we can darn well do just about what we want to on our OWN property?
The truckers are the LEAST of "Hicksperia's" concerns: They are employed, law-abiding, tax paying citizens.
How about the city council and their code enforcement Neo-Nazi fascists:
#1: BAN all lowered [foreign] cars: especially those with ILLEGALLY limo-dark tinted windows, illegally loud modified exhaust(s) and those damnable ILLEGAL 12,000 Watt sub-woofered radio/CD players!
They are louder than the Santa Fe diesel locomotive! They are LOUDER than the Advance Disposal trucks!! And they are L-O-U-D-E-R than the Hesperia airport!
And they are mobile: I hope one of these jerk-weeds drives by YOUR house at 2:00 a.m. with his "radio" thump, THUMP, T-H-U-M-P-I-N-G!
#2: We have no sidewalks, no curbs, no gutters, no "street" per code; no sewer, no storm drain, and no streetlights. And from the look of the overgrown lots in the area, apparently NO weed abatement.
#3: We do have vandalism, kids out after curfew trashing mailboxes, graffiti, litter and illegal dumping. This city is a disgrace and is more of a ghetto/barrio that a real, modern, classy 21st century city.
According to your article: R.V.s are next. What about boats, Seadoos, jet-skis, ATV and ATC off road motorcycles, travel trailers, truck-bed trailers. Where will they stop? When the fascist city incompetent boobs get done with new ordinance(s), we won't be able to "store" ANYTHING on our OWN G.D. property.
I suggest the city do an about-face and forget about banning trucks or R.V.s and take care of the three items I mentioned above.

| Although Dan Stillmar presents a valid argument that I agree with entirely, I feel that his method of making his point was simply low. In order to gain the respect of the community and recruit potential protesters if the law does pass, it seems as if Mr. Stillmar would intelligently refrain from using offensive terms. Ironically, he is fighting for his freedom however the sole enemy of freedom is racism. I must applaud you, Dan Stillmar, in attemps to smartly sway the opinions of your fellow hicksperians. To the Hesperia Star, a new proof reader and or editor would be wise in order to maintain your high standards and guidelines. |

| This is in response to Dan Stillmarks letter printed on Tuesday April 8th 2008. What was the point of publishing a racial derogatory term. It was irrelevant to the point he was trying to make and it's hateful. It goes against your own guidelines. Number 3 No racial slurs or insults. The word is even restricted from use in this e mail, however you have printed it in your newspaper. I understand freedom of speech but it is your responsibility socially and morally to filter what you publish according to your own standards. Has your newspaper fallen so low as to allow such blatant ignorance? |
